Terrace Medlar “Breda Giant”.

This ancient and unusual fruit which is very close relative of the quince brings a new dimension to the architecture of a terrace. The long thick leathery leaves and angular branches hold the huge white blossoms in late April which give way to the most unusual and unique fruit. It is a real talking point amongst neighbours and friends as you describe the “bletting” process to them and finally taste the fruits in late autumn. You will be walking in the steps of our Roman forefathers as you taste the Medlar Cheese or Jelly. Our variety Breda Giant is ideally suited to patio tub culture and even young trees take on great character with their gnarled stems and twisted branches.

Plants are supplied in 4.5 litre nursery pots with a supporting bamboo cane.
Approximate height when delivered: 60-80cm.

The image displays a tree of 7 years old and 1m in height.
